Trevor comes to Dealer Teamwork with over 22 years of experience in the engineering field and working with and managing quality assurance teams along with developing quality assurance automation tooling and application. Trevor is committed to ensuring the users of our products have the best experience possible.

In his free time, Trevor enjoys spending time with his family and supporting them in all their activities.

Q&A with Trevor Jager

What do you do at Dealer Teamwork and how does your work impact our customers' competitive advantage?

Our team develops and manages tests that allow us to comprehensively validate the products, services, and features that are developed for our customers. We ensure that the functionality of the MPOP®, our partner integrations, and the resulting output from our products and services meet the highest quality possible. We perform code releases on a regular basis to ensure our customers have the latest and best tools at their fingertips. The expansion of automated test validation is also playing a larger role in our ability to allow our team to get more done with more confidence. The work we do ensures our customers have confidence that our products and services meet their expectations so they can focus their time on interacting with their customers.

What Dealer Teamwork product, feature, service, etc have you enjoyed working on the most and why?

One of the most enjoyable parts of our work is being involved with nearly everything that goes out to our customers. The variety of products, features, and tools that are developed, tested, and released for our customers have positive impacts on improving the customer experience in many different ways. Working with products and features that work well together and those that complement each other is exciting to be a part of.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Truthfully, the most rewarding part of my job is the sound of silence. Doing our job well results in our customers being able to focus on all that they are providing for their customers and not running into issues with the products we provide. When an issue arises, it causes distractions for our customers, which is not what we strive for. There are always going to be issues that arise, but if we can be as effective as possible, things will remain quiet and we can focus on providing new features and enhancements for our customers.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?

Often, quality assurance is an afterthought in the creation and implementation of software products. There are many situations that thorough, methodical, and repeatable testing is overlooked. Dealer Teamwork has invested in the quality of our products and services by dedicating resources to develop, control, and manage the testing to validate the quality of the products we send out. If the functionality, performance, or reliability of the software we want to send out does do not meet the standards we have set as a department and company, we will delay a release to ensure the best possible software will reach our customers.

What’s your favorite hobby outside of work and what do you enjoy most about it?

Anything outside with family. I enjoy all of the seasons we have in Minnesota. I enjoy spending time with my family on hikes, rides, on the lakes, hunting, or simply sitting outside around a fire. Family time is key.
